Making business mentorship more accessible.

Kraken Mentor is a mobile app concept designed to make personalised business mentorship more accessible to small business owners. The project explored challenges around expensive mentoring, generic online advice and the lack of relevant support for entrepreneurs at different stages of their business journey.

I began with research into the needs of small business owners, including a survey of 20 participants and analysis of existing mentorship platforms. The findings shaped the product around personalised mentor matching, community support, resources and progress tracking, with the experience designed to give users clearer access to relevant guidance.

I then developed the product from early wireframes into a high-fidelity mobile interface, supported by a distinct visual identity and the Karl the Kraken mascot. Usability testing with 10 small business owners helped identify improvements to dashboard actions, messaging and progress tracking, giving the final concept a stronger focus on clarity and ease of use.
